Description
IDEA has created an outcome-driven, core curriculum, easily accessible digital content solution that is focused on English-second-language students at a low cost so that all students can work through self-paced and self-directed content. We teach students how to teach themselves, and train teachers to become learning facilitators rather than content masters as we drive both through digital, feedback-oriented, interactive and engaging content. Our digital products bring a global best education to local curriculum challenges and ensure there is a localized and personalized education journey that maps to global education standards. We work closely with provincial and national government departments of education and ministries of education to drive digital transformation, deployment, and implementation efficacies. We provide a high level of support for large scale deployments. This means we help schools and governments to turn hardware into learning environments.
Opportunity
In South Africa alone, 58% of students are not functionally literate; 60% of the current registered student population will not finish school; 85% of schools do not have a science laboratory; and 1/3 of teachers have not been trained or passed their national standards in their subject area. However there has also been double-digit growth in infrastructure, internet and hardware implementations driven by Government. So, IDEA has created a solution that addresses the educational outcome challenges as well as harnessing the existing technology policies of Ministries and Departments. We have created high quality, personalised, interactive and data-driven digital education content and software for students and teachers, currently focused on East and Southern Africa. Our competitors aggregate. We create. We have written, designed, developed and programmed a start-to-finish digital STEM content solution and learning platform from Kindergarten to Grade 12 as well as teacher training courses and ICT skills development.
